Haunted House

We all need one of these! I got a little creative and created this one of a kind haunted mansion using recycled items I had at home.

Materials:

1.)Paper Rolls(different sizes),soap box, granola box or a toothpaste box.

2.)Spray paint: Purple Grape, Cajun black.

3.)Scissors, exacto knife

4.)Cardstock Paper

5.)Hot glue/ Elmers glue

6.)Moss

7.) Puck light

Let’s get started, let’s create the top part of our towers using cardstock paper, there isn’t a specific size to create your cone (I used a 4inch size but depending on how tall or wide you make yours sizes will vary.) To create the cone I made a small cut halfway this allows me to create the form my piece. ⬇️⬇️

Apply hot glue on the inside of the cone pieces and glue both pieces together to create the towers. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

This next step will vary each time depending on how many towers you want to add to your house. Be careful while using the exacto knife It’s very Sharp.⬇️⬇️

Every time you make a cut to attach each piece the cut has to be same .🛑🛑 Save the pieces you will be cutting they will come in handy later on ⬇️⬇️

This is the backside of my house and as you can see the cuts I made are almost the same. Using your scissors or exacto knife make a cut on either side of your soap box and paper roll and glue them. 🛑Very important! You will repeat this step to any piece you are connecting, the cuts will allow the light to travel inside your house.

On the front side of your house create a door using your exacto knife, your door can be anyway you want it I went with a more traditional style. ⬇️⬇️

Repeat the same step to create the windows on the towers. ⬇️⬇️

Once you have glued all your pieces together you are ready for the next step. ⬇️⬇️

With the pieces you cut off your paper rolls use them to create the door bars and window frames for more detail. I cut very small strips to create them see below. ⬇️⬇️

Now that you have your piece glued together you will trace the shape of the bottom side of your house on either side of box you are using as a base. ⬇️⬇️

Once you have traced the bottom side of your house on the box then cut out the shape of each piece, this will allow the light to travel throughout the entire house. ⬇️⬇️

On the bottom side trace the shape of the puck light and cut out the shape.

After cutting out the shapes on the top/bottom sides of the box glue both pieces together. ⬇️⬇️

While you are gluing both pieces start adding moss to cover the glue and to add more detail around the house (the effect will look great once it’s all sprayed ). ⬇️⬇️

Allright! It’s spray painting time, let’s start by spraying the entire house using the Cajun Black color. Make sure you use a mask . ⬇️⬇️

Once you spray the black color then spray your accent color (you can use any other color orange, lime green,red). I focused more on the top side of my towers and the bottom part . ⬇️⬇️⬇️

After everything is dried then grab your puck light and insert it halfway on the bottom side, this will allow you to remove it if you need to change the batteries.
