Pumpkin Lamp

Let’s get creative with some dollar tree plastic trays and turn them into an inexpensive jack-o-lantern.

Materials

1.) 2 Dollar Tree plastic trays
2.) Paper bag
3.) Wood Burning tool
4.) Chalk Paint-Green Fern, Truffle Brown
5.) Spray Paint – Real Orange, Sun Yellow
6.) Black Permanent marker
7.) Glue Gun
8.) Fairy lights are optional

-Grab one of the plastic trays and using your permanent marker draw the face on the bottom side of your tray.⬇️⬇️

-Once you have drawn the face on one of the trays you will use your wood burning tool and carefully cut out the face. Make sure you wear a mask because the burning plastic will give off some smoke and carefully cut out the eyes,nose and mouth.⬇️⬇️

-Next you will grab your spray paints Real orange and Sun Yellow, using the Sun yellow color spray paint inside of both plastic trays.( Make sure you wear a mask).⬇️⬇️

-Next, using the Real Orange color spray the outside of both plastic trays. (Make sure you use a mask.)⬇️⬇️

-Next, you will line up both trays and using your glue gun glue them together to form your pumpkin form. Optional: You can use E6000 is less messier.⬇️⬇️

-Now its time to form the stem and leaf, grab your paper bag and cut it in half horizontally, open it up and start by creating your pumpkin stem by twisting the opening end of the bag real tight and leaving the closed end slightly loose. Use your glue gun to apply some glue to prevent the twists form undoing. Using the other half of the bag create some leafs ( the leafs will be differently every time.)⬇️⬇️⬇️

-Glue the paper stem and leafs together, once glued slightly start painting the stem with the Fern Green and let it dry. Next, use the Truffle Brown slightly paint it and let it dry.⬇️⬇️

-Lastly glue the paper stem and leafs on the top center of your Jack O Lantern, using fairy lights untangle them first and insert them through the mouth opening and light them up ( you can cut a hole on the back side of the tray or create a pocket for the light switch and feed the lights through the back.

Voila! 🎃 You have now created a unique Jack O Lantern. ⬇️⬇️
