Placemat Pumpkin

Create a unique Pumpkin using a Dollar Tree place mat.

Materials:
1.) 2 Dollar Tree Placemats
2.) Natural Pumpkin stem or you can use sticks or even create a paper stem.
3.) Artificial greenery
4.) Twine
5.) Yarn Needle
6.) Paper, trash bags, or polyfil(optional)⬇️⬇️

– Lets get started and grab your yarn needle and thread your twine, I didn’t measure how much twine I used. I used enough to have some twine left over.
– Make sure you double double knot the end .⬇️⬇️

-Start stitching the placemat using a basting stitch all around the placemat allowing 1in in every stitch.⬇️⬇️

– As you are stitching the placemat start pulling your twine to create “ruffles” and create the pumpkin form.⬇️⬇️

-Once you get to this step do not close the pumpkin allow some space to stuff your newly formed pumpkin.⬇️⬇️

– Start stuffing your pumpkin form with packing paper, plastic bags, or poliyfil. I chose to use paper :)⬇️⬇️

-Once your pumpkin is filled with paper leave a space to insert your pumpkin stem, or sticks.
-Next, pull the twine really tight to secure your stem and make a few stitches and knot it to secure the placemat from undoing.
-Finally cut the excess twine.⬇️⬇️

-The last step is to glue the greenery close to your stem, and voila you have created a unique pumpkin.⬇️⬇️
