Frosted Lamps

I love how these frosted lamps turned out and the best thing is they are budget friendly and the result is amazing.

These are the materials you will need.

1. Two plastic domes from Dollar Tree
2.) Glass candle holder from Dollar Tree

Let’s start by painting the base of the plastic dome and glass candle holder using the White Chalk Paint from Walmart. I applied 2 coats and dried using a heat gun.

Make sure you use two coats for both items.

Apply hot glue and reinforce with B700 or E600 clear adhesive. Turn the candle holder upside down and glue down to the dome plastic base. See below.

Once both pieces are attached then apply some glue to start the crackle effect, you may do this process in different sections as the glue will drip.

Once you have covered the base with glue then apply heat using a heat gun make sure you don’t apply direct heat, make sure the glue is semi dry.

Wait at least 30 seconds after you apply heat .

After the 30 seconds then you can apply a semi thick coat of a different color chalk paint make sure you leave some color show from the first coat this will allow the crackle effect to be more visible.

Once you apply the second paint color then apply heat to create the crackle effect, do not apply direct heat as the paint will bubble. You will see how the crackle effect will happen.

You will repeat the same step to the entire piece.

To create the frosted look on the plastic glove apply thick coats of clear mod podge on the inside of the plastic globe.

Once you have covered the inside with mod podge then you can pour diamond dust on the inside to cover the inside part of the globe. Let dry.

Once the globe is ready then you can glue it over the the base using hot glue or B7000/E6000 adhesive. Let dry.

The last step is to add your fairy lights on the inside and light it up!

These are so simple to create and you can create them in different color styles, take a look below how I displayed my two lamps. Enjoy and share with friends and family.
