Swan lamps

These flamingo cups have lots of potential to make over, take a look at how I created these Swan Lamps. Enjoy.

Materias
1.)Flamingo cup
2.) Small plastic bowl from Dollar Tree
3.) Champagne Glasses two in a pack also from Dollar Tree
4.)Black chalk paint
5.)Metallic Gold paint(you can use any paint colors you want.)
6.) Rinestone trim
7.) Small craft sticks from Dollar Tree
8.) Fairy Lights
9.) Wood Burning Tool
10.) Exacto Knife
11.) Hot Glue

Remove the straw from the flaming cup, glue the cup and the small plastic bowl using hot glue to create the body of the lamp.

Once these two pieces are glued using the white chalk paint cover the entire piece applying several coats to prep for the next color. Set aside.

To create the wings I used the small craft sticks from dollar tree. You will need six in total.

All the six sticks will be cut in half and see below how I started placing them as this is how they will be glued. Keep in mind this is how you will create the Right wing.

Below is the correct way to create both wings.

On the each side of the wings on the flaming you will make a slight cut as you see below using the exacto knife as this is where the wings will be inserted.

Apply some hot glue to the wing part and insert on each side of the flamingo cup.

Take a look at the back side of the cup as this is how it should look.

Next you will paint the entire body using the Metallic Gold paint you will need to apply at least 4 coats of paint.

On the base of the lamp I traced a line about 1cm wide all around for a simple design.

Use the black chalk paint to paint the top and bottom of the lamp base.

Use the same gold paint and paint the stripe on the bottom of the plastic bowl.

On the top of the cup lid paint the top side only using the black chalk paint.

For the champagne glass take a look how I marked it using a sharpie as the top of the champagne glass will remain clear, the neck of the glass will be painted black.

Using the wood burning tool cut the base off leavening that small long piece of the neck as it will be inserted on the top side of the lid.

Add a little glue either hot glue, jewelry, or E600 to secure. Insert on the open hole.

For a little more glamour I used small jeweled trim.

Take a look where I glued the trim on the lid of the cup and at the bottom where the cup and bowl were glued.

Grab the fairy lights turn them on and insert them on the inside of the glass.

Voila! You have now created a one of a kind lamp. Enjoy and share with your friends and family.
