I found an easy way to create a sconce that can be used as an everyday home decor item. The hearts you see below are season items from Target but also there are some wooden hearts available at Dollar Tree or any other shape.
These are the main materials:
1. Wooden heart plaque
2.) Wine Glasses (Plastic) From Dollar Tree
3. L Brackets (Walmart)
4.)Frame brackets for picture frames
5.Self adhesive wall tile from Dollar Tree

Start by tracing the wooden plaque on to the back of the backing of the tile.

Once done you can cut a smaller size heart as this will be glued to the center. If you are able to get the wooden cutouts from dollar tree then you will not need to make the extra cut.

I had some left over rhinestones (optional) that I glued to the border of the heart this will add a texture look.

Using some chalk paint I painted the front and back of the wooden piece.

If you want a shabby chick look you can also use some rub and buff over the rhinestones and the edges of the wooden piece.

Now it’s time to glue the smaller tile cutting and place it in over the wooden heart.

For a more antiqued look you can use the rub and buff over the texture of the wall tile.

Now to cut the wine plastic glass you will need a wood burning tool, see below where I made the cuts.

Using black chalk paint i painted the bottom side of the plastic glass and the round base as well, the small neck piece of the glass will not be needed.

See below how the two pieces will be glued together, the bottom base of the wine glass will be turned upside and the glass piece will be glued over it. You can use hot glue and reinforce with B7000 or E6000 adhesive.

To create the frosted glass effect I applied super glossy mod podge on the inside part of the glass, make sure you are very generous with it.

Now pour diamond dust on the inside of the glass and make sure it’s fully covered, tap the excess off.

Paint the L brackets with the black chalk paint as this will be glued on the back of the wooden heart.

Don’t forget to also glue the frame bracket to hand the sconce, you can use hot glue or you can use jewelry glue as well.
Dont forget to also glue the L bracket on the bottom part of the heart.

Once the L bracket is in place then apply hot glue on the L bracket and. Glue the sconce piece over it.

Now it’s time to add the fairy lights, turn them on and insert them on the inside of the sconce.

Make sure all your lights are inside the glass and you are don!

Congratulation! Enjoy your piece and share with friends and family.
Note: You can use any type of wooden count out depending on your style, the wooden cut outs can be found at Dollar Tree.
