Let me show you how you can create a nativity frame using a small frame and popsicle sticks and a few other things.
Main Materials:
Wooden frame from Dollar Tree
Small Popsicle Sticks
Nativity Scene Craft Kit from Dollar Tree

Start by gluing these small blocks behind the manger wooden frame as all these pieces come individually. Once those pieces are glue simply flip it over and repeat the same step by adding three wooden blocks.

The second set of wooden pieces added to your manger frame will be used to glue the holy family on the front side as you see below.

Behind the three wiseman piece add a small wooden block as well.

Now it’s time to put our manger together, I’m using a dollar tree wooden frame and small popsicle sticks. Look carefully how I have aligned these pieces and where I made the cuts.

Once my main frame is done then I used more popsicle sticks to fill in the top center part of my manger. Make sure you cut off the round ends on the popsicle sticks.

Start by gluing the side popsicle sticks using hot glue and then carefully place the top part of the manger and center sticks as well and carefully glue them.

For this step you can do it many ways as you can make it colorful or for a more natural look use some gel stain.

Repeat the same step to all of the nativity characters.

This step is optional- If you have fairy lights carefully glue them behind the manger piece and holy family allowing the controller piece to be glued behind your frame.

Once you have added fairy lights to the holy family center them on the frame and glue them down. Notice how I repeated the same step to the wiseman piece (on the wiseman piece I started with the opposite end of the light strand allowing a small section to be used around the inside frame .

Once both pieces are glue to each side of the frame start adding some pine sprigs and embellish with poinsettias, if you look carefully I used some smaller sprigs under the holy family to mimic straw.

Behind the frame I added extra support by cutting a popsicle stick in half and glued to the back.

Take a look how I added the extra section of light strand on the inside frame of the manger.

For my finished piece I mixed a bit of white paint and water to paint over the wiseman and holy family piece for a pop of neutral color.
I would love for you all to give this a try and share with your friends and family and don’t forget to catch me live on our Facebook page.
