New Years Hat

I had the brightest idea to turn a birthday hat into a New Year’s party hat. Take a look at this fun project,.

Materials:
1.) Party/Birthday Hat
2.) Spray Paint:Black and Metallic Gold
3.)Tinsel, silver sequin
4.)Fairy Lights
5.) Hot Glue
6.) White Acrylic paint/painbrush

Start by spraying the party hat using the black color, give it a few coats.

Always use a mask and well ventilated area.

Let the black paint dry before spritzing the gold paint.

Using the metallic gold you will hold it up above the hate and lightly spray to get this effect.

Once the party hat is fully dried then you will use your white acrylic paint to write “Happy New Year”

If you are not good with painting then simply grab a paint pen and use it instead.

You can add whatever design you want, it’s your hat.

Once you have completed the New Year text then it’s time to grab tinsel to wrap around the base of the hat.

Apply a little glue and start and glue around.

Once you complete the bottom base then simply add some tinsel to the top to cover the top point.

I also decided to use some medium size silver sequin to randomly glue a few over the tinsel.

I also repeated the same step to the top of the hat and added sequins.

Using mod page go or glue go over the text in sections and then just pour some gold or silver glitter for sparkle.

Sprinkle in the glitter to outline the text.

Lastly, if you want to use lights then go for it, this option can also be optional.

The light strand has 30 LED lights so I simply shortened by twisting them.

Now, I started by slightly gluing the battery pack under the hat, I didn’t used lots of glue to be able to pull it off if not needed.

Start by gluing the light strand around the base of the hat like the tinsel.

The warm light adds a very champagne color to the tinsel.

I purposely left a longer light strand so i could add some light to the top.

.

Voila! Now you have created a one of a kind New Years Party Hat

This idea can be done for any holiday or season.
