How to create a Dove using wood carrots.

Learn how to create a Dove using Easter wood carrots.

Materials:
1.)Wood carrots
2.)Acrylic paints
3.)Small popsicle sticks
4.)Hot Glue
5.)Greenery
6.)Magnet

Start by placing your carrots as you will see in the below pictures, remember you can glue them down as you go.

Quick tip you can also trace the shape of the carrot you place ton top of the other to know exactly where to glue in case you move them out of place.

To cover that small hole in simple added a small dab of glue to cover it.

The popsicle sticks you can find them at Dollar Tree these are the small size, you can decide how many you want to use to make the sings and tail feather.

The popsicle sticks have to be cut in half.

You will start gluing the popsicle sticks on the back of the carrots to have a clean look.

Now it’s time to glue the popsicle sticks behind the two wings.

You will repeat the same step as you did on the tail feathers.

This is the back of the dove.

For the beak I simply used a scrap piece of popsicle stick and drew the small beak and simply made a cut and glued on the back of the head.

Now you will have to paint your entire piece using the white paint, also paint the back as well.

Next you will have to use the cream color to highlight the feathers see below.

Take a look how I also incorporated the cream color on the body of the dove, I actually looked at a picture to try to get the shading in the correct places.

Using the white paint notice how I painted a few extra feathers on the body of the dove.

For the eye area I painted a small eye and added a few more details, you can also use the paint markers if you are not comfortable using the paintbrush.

TO finish it off simply paint the small beak using these tow shades of yellow.

Add the small greenery on the beak and the magnet on the back of the dove and you are done.

Enjoy! Thank you and please feel free to share with friends and family.
