Recently at the Dollar Tree I found a snowflake and a Christmas tree candy bowl and I got a brilliant idea, take a look at what I created.

Materials:
1.) Snowflake Candy bowl-Dollar Tree
2.)Clear and blue icicles-Dollar Tree
3.)Glue Gun/Wood Burning tool
4.)Fairy Lights
6.)Rhinestones/Brooch
7.)Black Marker

Start by marking on the back of the snowflake where you will create the holes. I used the design of the snow flake to create my pattern.

Using the wood burning tool start by making the holes by poking through the back of the snowflake. The wood burning tool gets really hot. Make sure you make the holes slightly big as you will need the light to shine through the front.

Once you have made all the holes you’re ready to place the lights.

The fairy light bulb will be placed over the hole and you will add glue over the wire on each side of the light. Repeat this step to all the lights.
If you have extra lights then simply go around the snowflake and glue it, if you will be placing this snowflake over a canvas this will help for more lighting.

Now it’s time to glue the icicles, use the design of the back of the snow flake to start gluing, you can use all blue or all clear.
I used both icicles.

Make sure to be generous with the hot glue to secure.

Repeat the same step to the blue icicles.

This is how the front of the snowflake will look like.

Backside of the snowflake.

Now you can start embellishing the snow flake using rhinestones, these are also from Amazon.

Using the snowflake design you can follow it and embellish, cut the rhinestones off the spool and glue.

If you have a brooch you can use it to glue it to the center of the snowflake, or you can use what you have available.

I also used a couple of them and glued them on the clear icicle for more shimmer.

If you want to place this piece over a canvas all you have to do is glue it over it. Voila! You have created a one of a kind piece.

For the Christmas Tree version follow the same steps to make the holes using the wood burning tool and simply use colored fairy lights and decorate.
